VVIP and business jets operate all over the world and are particularly vulnerable to contaminated water harboring harmful pathogens — such as E. coli, Legionella, Giardia, dysentery, norovirus, and rotavirus — potentially making passengers and crew ill. Contamination can occur from a poor-quality municipal supply uploaded to the aircraft, improperly handled/serviced equipment, or naturally occurring bacterial growth in water systems that are not disinfected as often as they should be.

IWG-UVL1
The IWG-UVL1 is the latest innovation in onboard water disinfection and utilizes state-of-the-art LEDs to generate the required UV light for killing pathogens. This allows for a compact, lightweight unit — the body of the UVL1 is just 6 inches (152 millimeters) long with a diameter of 2 inches (51 mm) and it tips the scales at only 1.8 pounds (0.8 kilogram) — 4.4 pounds (2 kg) lighter than IWG’s equivalent legacy units. The UVL1 is ideally suited for point-of-use, low-flow applications such as business jet lavatory faucets and galley spigots.
